Week 18 Project366 – 2016

Week 18 Project366 – 2016

Here I am 3 days late for Week 18 Project366. A good week on the whole that finished with a HUGE problem with the laptop with a Trojan and weird files.  More about that later.

After work on Sunday I popped in to see the DIL for a haircut. It needed doing! She took a good 3 to 4 inches off! Still long enough to tie / clip back so ideal for holiday.

A few walks, some practice for A Year with my Camera ( I really should post an update!! But it will have to wait!). That’s all about light, where it’s coming from and how to alter it.

CInema this week was Captain America – Civil War. What’s there not to like with Iron Man and most of the Avengers? Not the best film of the series, it was pretty slow to start but soon got going. The inclusion of SpiderMan bought some comic relief.

On Saturday we went to see the grandsons. Ashley wasn’t very happy as he wanted to go to the shops after being promised a treat for helping Mummy. Theo eventually got grumpy too as it was his nap time. So it ended up being a short visit.
Then it was down to MILs then back home. We had a chinese takeaway and a few beers in the evening.

On Sunday morning I set about starting this post and couldn’t get into any of my photos, browser was running slow and eventually ground to a halt. I checked Task Manager only to find THOUSANDS of java files!

I tried running my anti-virus but that failed. Ran Malware with the same result. I didn’t know what to do!  I was so afraid I’d lose all my photos so I moved all the important ones to Dropbox.

After work I tried again and still thousands of files. A search of the ‘net suggested reinstalling anti-virus then installing a spyware remover. Well….5 hours later and I was still at it.. Midnight I gave up!
Monday – 12 hours of reinstalling anti-virus, removing anti-virus, trying a different one, going to restore points several times, in safe mode numerous times, then running a spyware only to find out that to fix the threats would cost £20 to buy the full version!!  I left it until today to try to find a free one.
Well today – Tuesday – I found a forum that gave a quick and simple solution. So far it’s looking ok.. So I think the panic is over.

Here’s my selection for this week.

Week 18 Project366

  • My work in progress – a double page spread of a peacock.
  • Theo – such a poser!
  • One of the last camellias. No bad considering they started flowering in February!
  • Molly enjoying her breakfast
  • Mr Showoff – wanting a treat not a photo!
  • A walk at the local wetlands.

oh dear at the short visit with the grandchildren, nothing worse than grumpy kids so probably a wise move on your part.
Glad you have not lost all your pictures and you have managed to get back up and running.
I gave up long time ago, well never really got started, with a year with the camera as way to much going on.

Sorry about the virus you ran into. Those can be frustrating and difficult to get rid of. I’m glad you found a simple solution that worked.

I’m hoping to see Captain America: Civil War soon. I haven’t see it yet, but I’m so excited to see it! Maybe this weekend? I heard it is still at the top of box office sales for the second week in a row!

I’ll have to check out the project you’re talking about. I’m always interested in learning more about how to handle my camera and take better pictures. Some days it feels like a real struggle.
