Unlimited Cinema

Unlimited Cinema – Soosies experience, top films and worst films

A year ago I used my company discount to purchase an Unlimited cinema card from Cineworld.  Using this card along with using the 2-4-1 offer with the Meerkats has saved us around £200. (Adult ticket before 5pm = £7.90 X 45 = £355.50. Cost of card £144.50 + £2.50 for Meerkat policy)

So what have we seen in the past year? Well with 45 visits there was quite a lot! Some we saw more than once. (The Martian, The Revenant,  Mission Impossible and X-Men)

Ant-man, Inside out,  Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,  Fantastic 4, Absolutely Anything,  Transporter – refuelled,  The Martian,  The Intern,  Sicario,  Last Witch Hunter,  Spectre,  Suffragette,  Steve Jobs,  The Lady in the Van,  Mocking Jay 2.  Bridge of spies,  Victor Frankenstein,  Snoopy,  In the heart of the sea,  Joy,  Daddys Home,  The Danish Girl,  The Revenant,  Creed,  Ride Along 2,  Goosebumps,  Deadpool,  Zoolander 2,  How to be single,  The Divergent Series: Allegiant,  My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2,  Eddie the Eagle,  The Huntsman – winter war,  Eye in the Sky,  Captain America – Civil War,  X men Apocolypse,  The Nice Guys,  Independence day 2,  Central intelligence,  Ghostbusters,  The Legend of Tarzan.

My top 5

The Martian – Great story and although Matt Damon is often the only person on screen it cracks along at a good pace.

The Revenant – Hard to watch at times, especially during the bear attack. Well deserved Oscars to Leonardo Di Caprio and Emmanuel Lubezki for the cinematography which is absolutely amazing.

The Danish Girl – I wasn’t sure about this and knew it wouldn’t be Hubby’s cup of tea so went on my own to watch it. Eddie Redmayne plays the part with a very understated, delicate touch. When you see him as Lili you almost forget it’s a man. A wonderful film.

Eye in the Sky – A film told in ‘real time’ about the decisions that have to be made to stop a terrorist. Edge of the seat stuff and it will make you hold your breath!

Deadpool – The foul mouthed superhero. Funny, action packed and oh so rude at times. This takes the number one slot for the year.

And the worst 5

Sicario – OK the story is good but for most of it you have no idea what the hell is going on. I know it’s supposed to reflect the lead’s lack of information too but it ends up being a confusing mess.

Bridge of Spies – Sorry Mr Hanks but this just boring.

The Last Witch Hunter – A film that should have been so much better but fails on almost all counts.

Zoolander 2 – OK so Zoolander was funny but this is just a cash in on the success of the first one. It has a few funny moments but for the most part it’s just pants.

And scraping the bottom of the barrel is Steve Jobs. Boring doesn’t even come close to how dire this is. We walked out after an hour – long enough to suffer this utter shite. I honestly don’t know why or how critics loved it.

I really liked The Revenant. I found it so interesting but then again I love every movie Leo is in.

Never go to the cinema, the loud sounds plays havoc with my Menieres disease and makes me dizzy and nauseous so no point.
