Week 40 Project365 – 2015

Week 40 Project365 – 2015

Last few days of holiday, operating on my camera and trying to get photo of grandsons!

Sunday – Last full day. We were going to go to the local beach but there is very limited facilities there and the better part of the beach was quite a distance away and it was over 30degrees at 9am!! Too hot to walk a mile so we went back to a pool next door to our favourite bar.

Monday – Last day – a last walk about before breakfast, then back to pack up. A quick bite to eat mid afternoon then back to the airport for our flight home.

Tuesday – Back to normality! Turned the hot water back on but the boiler didn’t fire up.. no matter what we tried the boiler would not kick in. I’m so glad we have Home Care. I called British Gas and they had an engineer with us that afternoon!

Wednesday – Cracked out the laptop to catch up with everything.
I also performed an operation on my camera! I found a video on YouTube that takes you through cleaning the CCD and internal lens of the camera. It looked complicated but was really easy to follow AND the mark which was just a tiny speck of dust in the end has now gone!

Meerkat Movie this week!! We went to see The Martian. Starring Matt Damon as an astronaut who gets left on Mars after his other crew think he’s dead. He has to survive whilst a rescue mission is attempted. It’s very good, you really care for him and it gets quite funny too. Highly recommended, in fact we’ll likely go see it again if there’s nothing we fancy watching in a few weeks time.

Thursday – Woke up around 6:30am and got on Facebook as I usually do every morning. I had a messenger notification from my son in Australia that said – VISA APPROVED YEY!!!!!!!!!!! ….. I burst into tears!!! The visa gives him the right to work for the next 4 years and he can then apply for residency again in 1-2 years.
He had already called his boss and he was back in work! I’ll be eternally grateful to VIrgin for keeping his job open for the past few months.
I’m so happy that this worry is now over.
Happiness continued in the afternoon with a visit from the grandsons. Theo was into EVERYTHING,  nothing escapes his clutches!! Lots of fun with Ashley who tried his best not be photographed at first and then had a play fight with me to get the camera out of my hands!

Friday – back to work – BOO…

Saturday – Lazy day, Made a chilli in the slow cooker and while it was cooking we visited Mother Out Law.

Glad you got the camera sorted, good old you tube. The film must have been good if your considering going again.
Great pics of Ashley being a wee monkey.I agree they are so loveable and adorable but tiring.

Well done on fixing the camera, not sure I’d have had the courage to try that! Love all the shots of Ashley trying to avoid having his photo taken 🙂

  3. Coombe Mill - Fiona Cambouropoulos

I’m so happy to hear your son has his visa. We are currently without ours as we are switching from agency visa to a company one. I have to leave dubai within 30 days and get a new tourist 30 day visa and then make a new application, hubbies should be processed within this time.
I hope you had a lovely holiday, we couldn’t survive without Home Care while we have tenants, takes such a huge worry of our minds

Well done on the camera operation. We did something similar recently with a portable DVD player and it was surprisingly easy thanks to YouTube.
